2 About

1. About

The Susquehananna S Gaugers is a very informal, low intensity "round robin" group in North Central Pennsylvania.  We usually meet 4 or 5 times a year, usually at one of 7 different members homes that has a large layout (Centre Hall, Danville, Howard, Jersey Shore, Lock Haven, Northumberland, and Shamokin).  Periodically we may schedule a "steam up" or a picnic.

Of these 7 layouts, 4 are American Flyer, 2 are hi-rail, and 1 is S-Scale.  One of the hi-rail layouts is Digitrax DCC, and the other one is a combination of Lionel TMCC and DC.  The S-Scale layout is NCE DCC.

Photos of most of these layouts are on the photos page, on the older Trainweb.org site; CLICK HERE to view the layout photos.

2. History

Efforts to form the Susquehanna S Gaugers began about 1999, with busybody James Ingram, by collecting names from the TCA directory, the American Flyer Collectors Club directory, setting up S gauge displays at local train shows, and word of mouth.

In February 2000, the first meeting was held in Lewisburg. Since then, about 68 meetings have been held (as of Sept 2014), mostly in the North Central Pennsylvania region, with "excursions" to visit out of the area layouts in Scranton, Hershey, and Lancaster.
